Procedural Guidance
- Identify event start time and end time and the length of any break times
- Subtract start time from end time to calculate the total event time (in minutes)
- Subtract any break time from total event time to determine the total training time
- Divide the total training time by 50 (representing the 50-min credit hour) to determine total CPE credit available (round down to the nearest 0.5 CPE, do not round up)
Examples:
- Monthly training event
- Start time: 1:15pm | End time: 3:00pm | no breaks
- Total event time: 105 minutes
- Total training time: 105 minutes
- Total CPE credit available: 105 / 50 = 2.1 (round down to 2 CPE)
- Full-Date training event
- Start time: 8:30am | End time: 4:30pm | breaks: 90 min (60 min lunch, 2 x 15 min breaks)
- Total event time: 480 minutes
- Total training time: 390 minutes
- Total CPE credit available: 390 / 50 = 7.8 (round down to 7.5 CPE)
